The writer Ton Satomi was involved in designing the house. The western-style building is built in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright, while the annex, which is connected to the western-style building by a covered corridor, is in the Japanese style with a thatched roof. The annex was used for tea ceremonies. The house changed hands several times after Satomi moved out in 1936, and at one point the house was used as a hotel. The house is now owned by Mr. Ishikawa.
